7 Things I Want (Desperately)

1. For my room to get warmer. I'm shivering like crazy. The heater is on and I'm under a blanket, but I still can't type because my fingers are numb.

2. For time to stop. Please. Sernior year is going by too fast and I need to get alot of college stuff done.

3. For my laptop to stop freezing on me. Seriously laptop? You're only a year old, stop being such a brat.

4. For vacation to get here soon. I need a good nights sleep.

5. For my birthday to come more quickly. I WANT THE PRESENTS. Just kidding, I just want to turn 18.

6. Mango icecream. Not the Haagen Daaz kind, that stuff is terrible. I want the Asian version, its so good.

7.  For my calculus homework to complete itself. It's so boring.

6 Foods I Want Right Now

I'm craving for junk food right now. I wish I had money so I could walk to a store and get something to eat, but I'm broke. Also, my parents aren't big fans of unhealthy food.

1. Chocolate (preferably Lindt or a caramel filled chocolate) -The gooey caramel filling is already making my mouth water. Lindt is my favorite. If i could eat one food the rest of my life, it would be Lindt.

2. Tacos- I wish i could walk to Taco Bell, but its too far and I only eat Kosher meat. I usually make tacos, but we don't have the shells. Boohoo.

3. Fries- Just the word "fries" make me hungry. So bad for you, but still so good. Why is life so cruel? Makes all the yummy foods unhealthy.

4. Frozen yogurt- This stuff is so good (and not so unhealthy YAY!) but so expensive at the same time. Over four dollars for more than half a cup with toppings? Totally worth it.

5. Pretzel- They should make a pretzel store close to my house, I'd go there everyday. Warm salty pretzels with a dip (my favorite is the salsa cheese, or something like that) should by available to me everyday.

7. Pizza- There's a pizza hut right down my street, but I don't have the money, and I don't like pizza hut. Right now, even a frozen pizza would make me happy.

5 Places I Want to Go

I love to travel, go to new places and learn about different cultures. Five places I would love to visit are

1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates- Dubai is known for its buildings and interesting architechture. The tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa) is located in downtown Dubai.

2. El Giza, Egypt- I would love to see the great pyramids. It's interesting how people had made such giant structures with no technology.

3. Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India- The Taj Mahal is located here. I would love to see this grand building made entirely out of white marble.

4. Rio De Janeiro, Brazil- I so want to swim in these beautiful waters.

5. Great Wall of China- This 13,171 mile wall made in 220–206 BC can be seen from space.

Planet of Diamonds

I read an atricle today about a new planet being found. The U.S.-Franco research team found a rocky planet approxamately twice the size of the planet Earth orbitting a star that can be seen by the naked eye. The interesting part of this planet? It is made largely out of diamond. Named '55 Cancri e', is in the constellation Cancer. It orbits its sun so fast, a year on that planet last 18 Earth hours. '55 Cancri e' is also very hot, with temperatures reaching 3900 degrees Fahrenheit. A researcher from Yale University said that the surface of this planet is covered in graphite and diamond, instead of water and graphite. This isn't the first time a diamond planet has been studied, but this is the first diamond planet to be studied in such detail and seen to be orbiting a sun.
This planet is about 40 light years away, or 230 trillion miles. We probably will never be able to travel to that planet because we can't travel the speed of light, but if it was possible, I wonder what scientists would do. Would they bring back diamonds to Earth? Or preserve the planet? If they brought back alot of diamonds to Earth, the natural diamond found on Earth would lose its value. Diamonds from space would be more expensive and valued more. The find of this new planet is pretty interesting. It makes me think about how these planets are found, and how advanced technology is to be able to find these planets so far away.

You Are What You Eat

Today, I read an article about how what you eat can affect your mood. Many of the foods in the list are what Americans eat almost daily.

1. Potato Chips- Long known for its salty yumminess and bad nutrition, these are found in almost every American household. The oil these are fried in are filled with omega 3 fatty acids, that block mood enhancing omega 3 acid.

2. Ham- The factories where ham comes from fill their pigs with antibiotics. The hams are also filled with sugar, salt, fillers, and nitrate preservatives which can trigger low moods and migranes.

3. Soda- Pretty much everyone drinks these, dispite the negative effects. The average American drinks about 600 sodas a year! Sodas become fat in our bodies and turn our mood from good to bad (because of the sugar intake)

4. Margerine- Filled with industrial fats, it can tamper with insulin levels. It is also known as a fake food. Pasturized butter is alot better than this.

5. Bagels- Who doesn't love bagels? Warm, soft, topped with cream cheese, it makes a filling breakfast. One bagel is also equal to approximately five slices of bread. These are packed with refined carbs, and turn your happy mood around right before lunchtime. Also, in the last decade, companies have been enlarging the bagel.

6. Packaged salty peanuts- These contains artificial flavoring, monosodium glutamate, which is linked to migranes, weakness, and difficulty in breathing for some people.

7. Sweet potatoes- Contains high blood sugar which age our blood vessels, shrink our brain, and damage vision and nerve functions. It also increases our risk for Alzheimer's disease and depression.

I feel like we shouldn't stop eating the foods listed above completely, but eat them according to serving size and limit the ones containing high fat, sugar, or carbs. This way, you can maintain a healthy lifestyle and still eat the foods you like.

Revenge

So there is this new TV drama on ABC called revenge, where this girl Emily Thorne seeks revenge on the family that framed her father. Secretly, she is Amanda Clark, daughter of the framed terrorist. She keeps her identity a secret so she can get back at everyone who destroyed her life and childhood. During her course for revenge, she has to hurt many people and keep her emotions hidden for the one she loves. Emily also uncovers more hidden secrets by the people that betrayed her father. Soon, on her course of revenge, not only will she affect her life, she will affect the life of the people she loves. I don't think that revenge is worth anything. I think the best way to get revenge is to move on and be happy with your life now. By dwelling on the past, you will only ruin your life further. I don't think i would seek revenge and ruin the lives of the people who ruined my life. Yes, I might hate them for it, but i wouldn't waste my time after them. One thing I also noticed while watching this show is that we justify Emily's actions for revenge, but hate Victoria Grayson (the woman partially responsible for Emily's father's destruction) for saving her family and doing what she thought was right. I sometimes think Emily is kind of doing the right thing, because she is doing it for her deceased father, who was wrongly accused of a crime he didn't commit, and also because the Graysons deserve it for hurting innocent lives on their path to success. I feel like Victoria shouldn't be hated because she thought best for the ones she loved. Emily necessarily isn't doing anything wrong, mostly bringing out the truth, but she does do a lot of evil stuff along the way. She breaks into houses, causes drama between people, causes a fire, and spies on people. Sometimes I feel like Emily is the more evil one, but Victoria is full of surprises. Can't want to see what this season brings.

Maine is where I want to be

So ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to go to Maine. I have always wanted to see its beautiful mountains and bright blue waters. This summer, my wish was granted. I went to attend a summer program at the University of Maine for six weeks. Most of those weeks were spent at the University working and studying, but we did get a week off to relax and sight see. One of the places I visited was Acadia. Acadia was a beautiful park, with mountains and lakes. It was a warm day, so my friends and I decided to go to the lake for a swim. We all had a blast! We took turns burying each other in the sand, then washed the sand off by taking a swim. Playing Frisbee in the lake was fun too, we made each other chase the Frisbee by throwing it way out of their reach. Afterwards, we took our car and climbed up the mountain. the view form the top was breathtaking. The little lakes and oceans looked so blue in contrast with the green evergreens. I would love to go back and do some more sightseeing and have some more fun with friends.
